About Shield Timber Co.

We didn't start this business because we saw a market gap. We started it because we kept running into the same problem — we'd picture exactly what we wanted, and it simply didn't exist around here. So we built it ourselves. We've been doing that our whole lives.

The Property & Operation

Forty acres.
Every stage
in house.

Shield Timber Co. runs out of 40 acres of Northern Ontario bush outside Espanola. We mill our own lumber on site, run a dedicated laser and fabrication shop, and handle every stage of production ourselves — from the tree to the finished piece.

There's no warehouse. No outsourced production. No middleman between your brief and the finished product. What we build here stays here until it's ready.

We run a precision dual-diode laser on a large format bed for production engraving, signage, and custom fabrication work. Alongside it, a high-speed galvo laser handles rapid bulk engraving across metal, leather, slate, and more — the kind of turnaround that makes corporate gifting and live event work actually viable.

Combined with the sawmill, the epoxy studio, and the woodworking shop, we control the full production pipeline in house. That's not a selling point — it's just how we work.
